During a dental exam, your dentist will look at your teeth, mouth and gum health to see if they're healthy. It's also an opportunity for your dentist to help you solve any issues you may be having.
Regular dental visits are important for maintaining good oral health. Your dentist will help you determine when these appointments need to occur. Equally during your dental appointment, your dentist will tell you when you're due for another visit.
What will happen at your check-up?
During your dental visit your detist will look at:

Examination of your mouth, teeth, gums, cheeks and tongue.

Ask you questions about any problems or pain you've had since you came for your last check-up.

Provide advice on some of the things you can do to improve your oral health such as your diet, how to brush best, oral hygiene, tools & tips etc

Your dentist will record any concerns and may take X-raysto check for any hidden problems such as decay and bone loss due to gum disease.

May recommend a dental hygienist for scaling and polishing if there’s a buildup of tartar on your teeth.

Examine for any signs of oral cancers or other conditions that may be affecting you & provide guidance as to how best to treat the issue.
How long is a dental check-up take & how much does it cost?
For a typical dental check-up 15-30 min depending if anything requires discussion at a cost of £29.
However please note that appointment lengths in may vary depending on the nature of your checkup as will the overall cost if treatment is required.
